What To Expect At a 6 Week Twin Pregnancy Ultrasound
Expectant mothers who are unsure about whether they are carrying twins can receive a definitive answer from a 6 week pregnancy ultrasound. In this early stage, a transvaginal ultrasound is performed to view the developing babies.
You will be asked to lie on your back during the ultrasound scan, and an ultrasound wand will be inserted vaginally to create an image of your womb. Twin pregnancy will be identified if there are two embryonic sacs and separate heartbeats are heard.
